Episode 5: Exploring Family Connections at Raglan Castle - A Magical Day Trip
In episode five, we take you to Raglan, Wales. In this small village, we visit the grounds of Raglan Castle. Wander through the ruins of this great Welsh castle with us as you listen. We’ll also explore a little bit of the small village of Raglan with lunch at The Ship Inn.
On the way back to Cardiff, we also stop at Caerleon. This town is an archaeological site and residential suburb of Newport, Wales. It was important as the Roman fortress of Isca and one of the permanent legionary bases in Britain - a long, long time ago.

Raglan Travel Tips and Fun Facts
We have more travel adventures on this episode with tips on how to get to Raglan from Cardiff and make your way to the correct bus station (Newport Bus). And we also share our general views on exploring new places and fun facts we learned on this adventure.
Our Travel Planning Resources For This Trip
We used TripAdvisor to identify attractions to see once we had our short list of cities identified for this UK trip. We selected Cardiff to be our hub in Wales. That would make it easy to get to several places in Wales, including Raglan, Barry Island, and key attractions we selected in Cardiff.
We leveraged “DK Eyewitness Travel Guide Great Britain” to identify specific attractions during our trip. The book helped to identify walking tours and museums and times when particular places are open to visitors. We recommend purchasing a book similar to this one when planning a more extended trip.
